As we enter our second heatwave of the year, we have written to the newly appointed Chair of the Climate Change, Environment, Sustainability and Rural Affairs Committee James Evans MS to ask for his assurances that they are fully prepared for the impact that our warming climate is having on our country. Wild Cymru is committed to ensuring that Welsh Government and its associated bodies pave the way for Wales to become a leader in climate change action, and protecting our already vulnerable wildlife from its very real and present threats. Licensed, controlled Spring burning of the mountain can be beneficial to wildlife and man. Plans to ‘wild’ the mountain require careful management to prevent the real risk of summer combustion.
